November through to January is Monsoon time and the waves are normally too large and rain too heavy for anyone to want to visit the islands, and most of the resorts, bars, restaurants etc shut for the low season. You can normally only buy a round trip ticket from Kuala Besut to the Perhentian Islands, the cost of which is 70 MYR with Sunny Travel. The journey time take around 40 minutes depending upon exactly where on the islands you are planning to go.
