Before you start your journey to the Perhentian Islands you need to decide where are planning to go in order to inform the speedboat operators where you would like them to drop you off. There are two main island where you can stay: Pulau Perhentian Besar (the ‘big island’) and Pulau Perhentian Kecil (the ‘small island’). Pulau Perhentian Kecil is the more popular island with younger visitors on a smaller budget, as it has more low cost accommodation including tents for people really keen on saving money. Pulau Perhentian Besar has more expensive and better quality accommodation such as Perhentian Island Resort and Tuna Bay Island Resort. You can go snorkelling and diving from both islands, although Pulau Perhentian Kecil is much more lively in the evening time.
